Now just because the clubs are closed for the foreseeable future, that doesn’t mean we can’t feel ourselves in that dancefloor way, as we’ve come to learn from West London creative Alewya. Her latest track ‘Sweating’ is a transcendent mix of fresh club beats, heavy bass and progressive production. This hedonistic mix comes via a collaboration between the the autodidact producer and singer-songwriter Alewya who draws on her Egyptian and Ethiopian heritage, her London upbringing and a recent four-year stint in New York, and the UK/Ghana-based producer The Busy Twist, who re-joins the dots between Accra and London through African-inspired bass music. The palpable energy of ‘Sweating’ is exactly what Alewya wanted to convey to the listeners with the ultimate aim for them to connect spirituality, as she explains: “I want to move people to themself. I want them to feel the same way that I felt when I had a taste of a higher power and felt there was a presence over me.
